
After narrowly escaping bullets from a drive-by shooting in Miami, the rapper has hired armed personal bodyguards to protect him 24/7!
Rick Ross was the target of a drive-by shooting in Miami on Jan. 28, and he ended up crashing his Rolls-Royce to escape the gunfire. Even though the shooter has not been identified, the rapper had been threatened by a street ganga called Gangsta Disciples for weeks before the dangerous attack.
As a hip-hop artist, Rick had armed security for big events such as concerts and public appearances, but in the wake of the drive-by shooting, he has decided to have armed bodyguards 24/7, TMZ is reporting.
Rick Ross Escapes Gunshots Fired At His Vehicle
Rick was celebrating his birthday at LIV nightclub in Miami, and left the club in the early morning hours of Jan. 28. As he was driving away in his Rolls-Royce, dozens of shots were fired at his car at around 5 AM in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, according to TMZ. None of the bullets hit the vehicle, but they did hit multiple buildings.
Rick reportedly crashed his car trying to escape the bullets. Police have made no arrests and no suspects have been identified.
”We are currently looking for members of the public to come forward with information,” Detective DeAnna Garcia, of the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively.
“No one was arrested and we have no suspects,” she added. “The victim (Rick Ross) co-operated with the with police on scene and was released. No one was injured or taken to hospital.”
