A New Jersey man was arrested after he accidentally picked up the wrong child from school.
Art Deaner didn’t mean any harm when he thought he was doing a friend a favor by picking up their child and driving them home.
The problem was instead of picking up 6 year old Courtney Fetters he mistook her for a girl who resembled her.
Deaner told the young girl he was looking for Courtney and the young girl told him her name was Courtney.
9 year old Courtney Durr who was coincidentally also waiting to be picked up by her mothers friend got into the car.
Deaner noticed there was something wrong when he inquired about her recent trip to Maine. Durr told him she had never been there and Deaner realized he had the wrong child.
The girl he was looking for was still at school. A cross guard who watched Deaner pick up Durr noticed the different vehicle and feared it was an abduction. She called police and reported his license plate.
